Hummingbird and Heliconia Watercolor
Heliconia Dreaming My ‘Dreaming’ series of watercolors are of exotic tropical flowers with imagined hummingbirds, butterflies, and moths, inspired by the natural beauty and wildlife of the Caribbean and Central American Rainforest. Heliconia bihai, originally from Northern South America, is now found throughout the tropics. The beautiful flower brackets are a deep red with a thin lime-green edge. The stalks grow to 4’ or more with leaves up to 5’ long. The hummingbird is imagined.
